So, if you believe that you&#8217;ll do well on a work project, you will. If you expect not to do well, then you likely won&#8217;t.<br />
Dr. Peale also said,<em><strong> &#8220;Change your thoughts and you change your world.&#8221;</strong></em> The beauty of this statement is that it gives incredible hope. The implication is that if you can take hold of your thoughts, you can think your way into success. Positivity rules again.</p>
<h2><strong>Positivity: Illustration and Discussion</strong></h2>
<p>Consistently thinking positive can be challenging. Maybe your self-confidence isn&#8217;t as strong as it could be. If this is the case, you may need to take a leap of faith to think positively. Perhaps you ponder, &#8220;But what if I make a fool of myself?&#8221; or, &#8220;Maybe my co-worker is smarter than I am.&#8221;</p>
<p><strong>Consider this illustration:</strong></p>
<p>You&#8217;re up for a promotion at work. How will you think about the situation? What do you believe about yourself as it relates to the possibility of receiving the promotion? Here are three ways to approach this matter:</p>

<li><strong>Assume 	you won&#8217;t be selected for the job.</strong> After all, you didn&#8217;t get 	straight A&#8217;s in school. And that new Vice President hardly ever 	speaks to you. You think you won&#8217;t be chosen.</li>
<li><strong>Decide 	you don&#8217;t care either way.</strong> Whether you get the promotion or not 	isn&#8217;t important. It doesn&#8217;t matter. This way of thinking 	demonstrates the easy way out. You don&#8217;t have to put any emotional 	energy into something when you don&#8217;t care.</li>
<li><strong>Dare 	to think you&#8217;ll be selected to receive the promotion.</strong> You 	believe you&#8217;re smart enough to be chosen. And you know that you work 	hard, so others probably see that you&#8217;re a good candidate. You&#8217;ve 	decided to think positive!</li>
</ol>
<p><em><strong>How can you come out of this situation feeling fine, no matter what happens?</strong></em></p>
<p>Let&#8217;s consider each approach to the possible promotion.</p>
<p><em><strong>Most likely, if you respond like #1 and don&#8217;t receive the promotion, you won&#8217;t feel very positive.</strong></em> After all, not getting the promotion will now serve as confirmation of what you believe about yourself, that you won&#8217;t be successful. However, even if you do get the promotion, you may believe you don&#8217;t deserve it. Because of a negative approach, you may feel unhappy even if you get what you want.</p>
<p><em><strong>If you react as in #2, then you don&#8217;t care either way.</strong></em> You&#8217;ve convinced yourself that nothing is important enough to invest in it. Your life goes on the same. When you don&#8217;t care about something, the end result is irrelevant. However, if the end result truly doesn&#8217;t matter, you may not particularly enjoy getting the promotion if you actually do. You&#8217;ve deprived yourself of joy by completely detaching from the situation.</p>
<p><em><strong>But if you react like #3, you go into the situation feeling hopeful, excited, and energized.</strong></em> If you&#8217;re chosen, you&#8217;ll be reinforced for your positive thinking and re-energized for the work ahead of you.</p>
<p>Even if you aren&#8217;t selected, you&#8217;ll only experience brief disappointment. After a short letdown, you&#8217;ll remind yourself that with your intelligence and perseverance, something good will soon come along. <em><strong>You simply can&#8217;t lose by approaching life&#8217;s events with positive thinking.</strong></em></p>
<p>Pondering <strong>positivity</strong> is worth your time. Just about everyone has heard that the Law of Attraction can be used to bring you what you want. Is it true that the only fact to think about being rich, you will be?</p>
<p>In fact, it depends on how you consider the actual statement. What is true, though, is that a more positive attitude about life in general really can help you create financial gain.</p>
<p>No one likes a Gloomy Gus. People who drag around all the time, feeling down about themselves and their circumstances, saying that nothing good ever happens to them, really aren&#8217;t going to see the big breaks that they once hoped for. Why? It&#8217;s because they&#8217;re projecting an air of defeat onto everyone and everything around them.</p>
<h3>For Your Own Benefit, Stay positive</h3>

<p>When you do that, it shows. Others are able to see it, and you become the kind of person they want to be around. You will naturally attract good things, because you are giving out good things &#8211; smiles, handshakes, hugs, joy, and positive energy &#8211; to the people you meet. That&#8217;s the kind of person others want to spend their time with &#8211; and the kind of person that companies want to hire and promote!</p>
<h3>Practice Thinking Positive Each Day</h3>
<p>There are many ways to turn negative thinking into positive thoughts, instead. Like anything else, it requires some work. However, the time you spend on it is well worth the effort.</p>
<p>Here are some simple things you can do to get started on a more positive life and move yourself toward financial gain:</p>

<li>Say at least one positive thing to yourself, and about yourself, each day.</li>
<li>Cut out a costly habit, like smoking or excessive drinking, and you&#8217;ve already gained financially.</li>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Affirmations are everywhere, and they have the strong ability to <strong><em>lift your spirits to get through hard times.</em></strong> This is because we&#8217;re all highly suggestible, even if we think we&#8217;re not!</p>
<p><strong><em>Affirmations help us to keep a positive attitude about life. </em></strong>It&#8217;s only natural that we&#8217;ll get more out of these positive sayings if we formulate them ourselves. Writing our own affirmations makes them personal to us, which can then help us to get through our own individual situations.</p>
<h2><strong>When you start writing your own affirmations, keep these tips in mind: </strong></h2>
<p>1.  <strong>Make them personal.</strong> When you write affirmations, it&#8217;s important to remember to use <em>&#8220;I&#8221;</em> in them. They <em>are</em> personal to <em>you</em> after all.</p>
<ul>
<li>Example: <em>&#8220;I am having an exceptional day today!&#8221;</em></li>
</ul>
<p>2.  <strong>Use the present tense.</strong> Affirmations are built in order to change our feelings <em>now,</em> which is why you want to stay positive and strong in this moment. When you use the past tense, you get nostalgic. When you use the future tense, you get hopeful. The present tense helps you feel the difference right now.</p>

<li>Example: <em>&#8220;I am feeling relaxed.&#8221;</em></li>

<p>3.<strong> Be down to earth.</strong> This just means to use your own style and try not to make your affirmations too formal or wishy-washy. You want to capture your own voice.</p>

<li>Bad Example: <em>&#8220;Presently I feel the urge to enjoy my      existence.&#8221;</em></li>
<li>Good Example: <em>&#8220;I enjoy my life.&#8221;</em></li>

<p>4.<strong> Be short.</strong> Affirmations are meant to be short, simple and sweet. Stay on target and make your affirmation a one-liner. If it&#8217;s too wordy, try breaking it up into a few affirmations. <strong><em>The trick is to stick with one simple idea at a time. </em></strong></p>

<li>Example: <em>&#8220;I am in perfect health.&#8221;</em></li>

<p>5. <strong>Make it positive.</strong> Affirmations are positive statements, so avoid negative words like <em>&#8220;not.&#8221;</em> You&#8217;re using affirmations to make a life improvement and positive statements motivate you to make this improvement.</p>

<p>Practice always makes perfect. Write down the affirmations you&#8217;re feeling. Then go over the list above and make sure that your affirmations follow the rules. Once they do, start using your affirmations and feel the difference. <strong><em>Say your affirmations to yourself daily. </em></strong>Take deep breaths and keep your eyes on your goal.</p>

<p>Now let&#8217;s say you are walking down the street with these thoughts. Do you think anyone who would meet you would be able to tell you what’s on your mind?</p>
<p>The answer to number one is up to you. But, the answer number two can be pretty generic. Although people will not be able to tell you exactly what you think, they will more or less have an idea of how you are feeling.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s another question. When you enter a party filled with friends, do they all fall silent as if something terrible had happened? Or does everybody there perk up as if waiting for something exciting to happen?</p>
<p>You know what? The answer to all these depends on your frame of mind.</p>
<p>Thoughts are very powerful. They affect your general attitude. The attitude you carry reflects on your appearance, too – unless, of course, you are a great actor.</p>
<p>And it doesn&#8217;t end there. Your attitude can also affect people around you.</p>
<p>The type of attitude you carry depends on you. It can be either positive or negative.</p>
<p>Positive thoughts have a filling effect. They are admittedly invigorating. Plus, the people around the person carrying positive thoughts are usually energized by this type of attitude.</p>
<p>Negative thoughts on the other hand have a sapping effect on other people. Aside from making you look gloomy and sad, negative thoughts can turn a festive gathering into a funeral wake.</p>
<p>A positive attitude attracts people, while a negative attitude repels them. People tend to shy away from those who carry a negative attitude.</p>
<p>We can also define attitude as the way of looking at the world. If you choose to focus on the negative things in the world, more or less you have a negative attitude brewing up. However, if you choose to focus on the positive things, you are more likely carry a positive attitude.</p>
<p>You have much to gain from a very positive attitude. For one, studies have shown that a positive attitude promotes better health. Those with this kind of attitude also have more friends. projecting a positive attitude also helps one to handle stress and problems better than those who have a negative attitude.</p>
<p>A positive attitude begins with a healthy self-image. If you will love the way you are and are satisfied, confident, and self-assured, you also make others are around feel the same way.</p>
<p>A negative attitude, on the other hand, has, of course, an opposite effect. So, carrying a negative attitude has a twofold drawback. You feel bad about yourself, and you make others feel the same way.</p>
<p>If you want to have a positive attitude, you have to feature healthy thoughts. This is probably very hard to do nowadays since, all around us, the media feeds us nothing but negative thoughts. A study shows that for every 14 things a parent says to his or her child, only one is positive. This is truly a saddening thought.</p>
<p>If you want a healthier outlook in life, you need to think happy thoughts, and you have to hear positive things as well. So, what can you do? Well, for starters, you could see a funny movie, you could play with children, spend some time telling jokes with friends. All these activities fill you with positive stimuli, which in turn promotes positive attitude.</p>
<p>Although it is impossible to keep ourselves from the negative things around us, you can still carry a positive attitude by focusing on the good things, the positive things in life.</p>
<p>And this positive attitude you now carry can be of benefit to other people. Sometimes when other people feel down, the thing people mostly do is try to give them advice. But sometimes, all they need is somebody to sit by them, and listen to them. If you have a positive attitude you may be able to cheer them up without even having to say anything.</p>
<p>If positive attitude is really great, why do people choose to adopt a negative attitude instead? One who carries a negative attitude may be actually sending a signal for attention. Before you get me wrong, feeling sad, angry, or gloomy is not wrong itself. But dwelling on these thoughts for far too long is not healthy either. There is a time to mourn.</p>
<p>As always, if you are beset by troubles, even in your darkest hour, focus on the good things in life, you will always have hope. Problems become something you can overcome.</p>
<p>You do not have much to lose by adopting a healthy, positive attitude. Studies show that such an attitude actually retards aging, makes you healthier, helps you develop a better stress coping mechanism, and has a very positive effect on all the people you meet every day. So, what&#8217;s not to like about a positive attitude? Adopt one today.</p>
